Join us on SAMHAIN EVE (Oct 30) at 7pm in Gaston, SC for our second Ancestral Visitation ritual. This dynamic, rhythmic journey is unlike anything that Greenwild normally offers for public ritual.
Begin showing up at 7pm. By 7:30, we are ready to begin as you gather around the bonfire. The drumming calls you closer. Forming a circle, we gather as a community in remembrance of ancestors of blood and of spirit. We remember all those we've lost in our lives, and those we never met through the ages.
Our path is lit before us, and we weave through the trees to the ancestor altar where one by one we place an item or write the names of those we are remembering. All the while, the sound of mourning - keening - crying and chanting is heard in the distance, allowing the grief to find an escape route even if you yourself cannot make the sounds. We will cry for you if you cannot cry yourself.
The ancestors are listening, and begin their journey to visit.
As you move back to the bonfire, we sit and begin to tell the stories of those we love who are no longer with us. "What is remembered, lives" after all, and when we tell the stories, our ancestors and deceased loved ones (including beloved pets) remain with us.
We weave their stories into the cool wind, while our Hearthkeeper continues to call upon our ancestors to visit us this night, this Samhain eve. Chanting, singing, inviting them into sacred space.

This will be a night of mediumship and channeling, of mystical experiences, stories of remembrance, and above all, honoring of our ancestors through sound, movement, chanting, channeling, and inviting the unseen into our space. Perhaps you will hear the whisper of a loved one, or feel the tap of a gentle finger upon your shoulder. We invite you to join us.
Gather at 7pm. We begin at 7:30pm EST.

We cannot promise that a particular loved one or ancestor will visit you in an experiential way, but we can promise that this will be a spiritual experience that you will remember. Please note that we have had many spiritual and supernatural experiences on this land before, so be aware that while there is no promise, there is also precedence that interesting things MAY happen. Come with open hearts and open minds.

Please bring a camp chair, refillable water bottle, blanket/jacket, and any item/s to place on the ancestor altar.
We will be offering herbal tea to help facilitate the experience which you may choose to drink if you wish.
We will have light snacks, you are more than welcome to bring snacks to add to our snack table if you desire (but it is not required).
****Please bring items that you may leave such as a copy of a photo, a bit of food they liked in life, a piece of material from clothing, etc. Do not bring anything that you will be upset if you forget to retrieve it! There will be paper where you can write their names.
